Anna María recieved her Masters degree in Health Care Management from Bifröst University in 2009, diploma in cognitive behavioral treatment in 2002 and a B.Sc in Ocupational Therapy in 2001 as well as a Sports Teachers degree in 1991.

Anna María started working at Bjarg in 2004. Former employment: Reykjalundur, Inpro, Liðsinni, Solarplexus, Isafjords Junior College.

Eva finished a B.Sc degree in phsyiotherapy from The University of Iceland in 2009.  Eva has worked at Physioterapy in Kopavogur, Eir Nursery, Sunnuhlíð Nursery as well as working as a physiotherapist with the masters league both with Þór and Breiðablik.

Hulda Björg Kristjánsdóttir

Hulda Björg Kristjánsdóttir

Physiotherapist

Hulda graduated with a B.Sc in physiotherapy from The University of Iceland in 1996. Hulda worked at Bjarg from 1996 – 2008, at Kristnes from 2008 – 2009 and started working at Bjarg again in 2010.

In addition to conducting general physiotherapy, Hulda works extensively with the training of children and physically disabled people and people with edema and lymphatic problems.

Hulda graduated with a  B.Sc in Occupational Therapy  from The University of Akureyri in 2001. Hulda began work at Bjargi in 2008, but previously worked at the Akureyri Quarter Hospital in 2001-2008 in various departments (medical department, orthopedic department, and childrens ward). Hulda worked in the FSA Childrens Clinical Division assessing childhood development and skills.
Huldu’s special interest area is the perception of children, working with children and enhancing their abilities, both practically and socially.

Hulda Þorsteinsdóttir

Hulda Þorsteinsdóttir

Physiotherapist

Hulda joined Bjarg in 1996. She previously worked at the Lamb and Disabled Society in Reykjavik from 1986 – 1991 and at the Rehabilitation Center in Akureyri 1992-1996. She has worked at the HL station in both in Reykjavík and Akureyri. She also ran the Bjarg Fitness Center in 2000 – 2009 where she worked as a teacher and a personal trainer.

In addition to conducting general physiotherapy, Hulda gives lymphatic massages and has acquired rights in head and pelvic spine treatment.

Jóhanna Katrín Kristjánsdóttir

Jóhanna Katrín Kristjánsdóttir

Physiotherapist

Jóhanna graduated with a B.Sc in Physical Therapy from the University of Iceland in 1992 as well as in Acupuncture from The Association of Icelandic Physiotherapists in 2002. Jóhanna worked at the Grensás Division at the Reykjavik City Hospital from 1992-1998. She Started at Bjarg in October 1998. Jóhanna has also worked at the HL station in Akureyri since 2002.

Jóhanna is interested in general physiotherapy, neuro physiotherapy, sports physiotherapy, child physiotherapy, acupuncture, etc. She likes working with people of all ages.

Jón Harðarson

Jón graduated with a B.S. in physiotherapy from the University of Iceland in 1999 and started work at Bjargi in the same year. He completed a supplementary program in operation and management in health care in 2003. Jón founded the club Klakana 2006 together with Anna Maria Malmquist occupational therapist at Bjarg. Jón has worked approximately 40% in childrens physiotherapy, both with disabled children. Rehabilitation and skills training for people after accidents and orthopedic surgery has been Jón’s specialty. Also, Jon has worked a great deal with people who need to increase strength and endurance to get in better shape.

Jón has worked part-time at the HL station in Akureyri since 1999

Maria completed a B.Sc. in Physical Therapy from the University of Iceland in 1998. She joined Bjarg in 2001, before she worked for the physiotherapy program at Ártúnshöfði in Reykjavík 1998 to 2001.

In addition to conducting general physiotherapy, María does lymphatic massages and has acquired rights in cane training.

Marjolijn van Dijk

Marjolijn van Dijk

Physiotherapist

Special education in neuromanipulations, visceral manipulations and acupuncture. Marjolijn works with Child and general physiotherapy. She worked one year in Denmark, but since 1996 she has worked in Iceland as a physiotherapist and a medical transporter.

Marjolijn came to work at Bjarg in 2017.

Svanhildur Arna Óskarsdóttir

Svanhildur Arna finished MS in Physical Therapy from the University of Iceland in  2020. She worked Landspítalinn Landakot from  júní 2020 – maí 2021. She started working at Bjarg June  2021.

Þórdís Úlfarsdóttir

Þórdís Úlfarsdóttir

Þórdís graduated from the Comprehensive College in Akureyri in 2004 and B.Sc. Diploma in Physiotherapy 2009 from UCL in Denmark. Þórdís has worked at Bjarg since 2009 and trained and attended a endurance test at the Hjarta and Pulmonary Institute at Bjarg from 2009.

In addition to conducting general physiotherapy, she works with the training of children and people with reduced mobility, gives people lymphatic massages and has acquired the rights as infant swim teacher. Þórdís also conducts group training.
